Afro-Learn

Afro-Learn is a dynamic and culturally enriching biweekly event program introduced by the Curtin African Students Association. This initiative is designed to celebrate African culture and cultivate a sense of community among students. Taking place at the Tribal Room on campus every two weeks from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, Afro-Learn offers an exciting lineup of activities catering to the diverse interests of the Curtin community.

More than just an event, Afro-Learn is an immersive experience focused on education, inspiration, and entertainment. Led by accomplished individuals in various fields, each session features a variety of classes aimed at teaching and exploring different hobbies. The program provides a unique platform for students to connect with their African heritage, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural elements within the African diaspora.

Events at Afro-Learn include, but are not limited to, a dance workshop where participants can engage in the rhythm and movement of African dance, a DJ workshop to unleash creativity and musical instincts guided by experienced DJs from the African diaspora, and a braiding workshop delving into the art of hairstyling led by leading African experts. These workshops are just a glimpse of the exciting and diverse activities Afro-Learn has to offer, creating a holistic experience that goes beyond traditional events, allowing students to immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of African culture. Afro-Learn is a celebration of diversity and a testament to the inclusive and enriching atmosphere fostered by the Curtin African Students Association.
